Hello and thank you for visiting my Fan Site
of all things Predator!
This site is in need of a bit of a makeover, so over the next few weeks,
please do check back, as I plan to make more changes!
If you hadn't guess it based on the title alone, this is my Predator fandom site, which includes some fan fiction writing that I have done. To the right is the story, Annihilation, which is my take on the whole AVP Universe. I wrote that story waaaaaaaaay back in 1999 - yep. 1999. Well, I started it then anyway. I don't think I actually finished it until 2003.
I've been a fan of Predator since I first saw (half of)Predator 2 on TV in 1992. It wasn't until afterwards that I saw Predator, and rewatched P2 in full. I've been hooked on Predator ever since.
I first debuted as Predator at a Sci Fi Convention in Saratoga, NY at the age of 13 in 1992. I won first place, and was given my trophy by Aaron Eisenburg, of DS9 fame.
I do believe I was the first female Predator to be seen at any convention anywhere. In fact, female Yautja at all were not seen until the release of the novel AVP:Prey which featured, as you know, the human Machiko Naguchi who developed a relationship with the Yautja leader Dachande. Some time after that, Machiko toys, and female Yautja resin models, and even a depiction of a female Yautja during a mating ritual (on an AVP trading card collector set) began to appear. But, I still hold my claim to fame that I was the first.
My Predator costume has evolved numerous times over the years. That first one has a bamboo spear, and was made out of plaster. I hope I can find a picture of it. My suit has seen DragonCon twice, and has even been to Canada for conventions, as well as several throughout the US over the years. It's gone from plaster and metal to its current model with realistic effects from the movie-accurate helmet to lights, sounds, and moving arm gauntlet panels and wrist blades.
I also have a large collection of Predator related paraphernalia - over 300 pieces to be exact, including comics, TBP's, Posters, toys and models, unique items that you probably never even imagined existed. I'll be working on getting up a little (well, not so little) encyclopedia of my collection soon.
I admit, I have not been to a Con in years, but I still hold a deep love of Predator, and hope you enjoy my site as much as I enjoy having it.
At cons, some people know me as K'Shai (kuh-sigh). You will also note that this is also the character name I use in the stories I've written. (Not terribly creative, I know).
In the real [boring] world, most people know me as Amanda. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts and comments to: email@example.com or sign the guestbook and let me know you've been here.
Below is a little chronology of my Predator costumes through the years. If I find more, especially of my older/original versions, I will certainly post them.
Above: Circa 1999 or 2000 - Toronto Trek in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with Scott from Kropserkel as Alien. Super sweet time!!
Above: DragonCon 2002, right before security told me to get out of the Marriot's tree......
Above: DragonCon 2003. I was on the mail level of the Marriott. He was in the lower level and I heard his clicking. It was a mating call. We've been married since 2004.
How about that?
Above and below: DragonCon 2004. Sadly, the last time I was able to attend. I would love to go back someday.
Below: August 2004 at the release of Alien Vs. Predator.
Below: 2006, yet another updated version of my suit! Here, the blades move back and forth, the shoulder cannon lights up and moves, and the countdown panel really counts down! It doesn't explode though. :)
